Magnet Schools of America Awards

To receive a national merit award, members of Magnet Schools of America must submit a detailed application that is scored by a panel of educators. These schools are judged and scored on their demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school’s magnet theme.

McLean wins the School of Distinction merit award from Magnet Schools of America.

McLean wins the Challenge Award for 5th Grade Reading; the Challenge Awards recognize schools for outstanding achievements and uncommon accomplishments based on Kansas math and reading assessment results and other qualifying factors, specifically the sample size, ethnicity and social-economic status of those taking the test.

Cindy Graves, Principal, wins the Region VI Principal of the Year award from Magnet Schools of America.
